About Us

Our Opening Hours

We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, 48 weeks of the year.

Our Location

Little Learners Nursery at St Margaret’s is based within St Margaret’s C of E Primary School at 15–19 North Street. Renting space from the school gives us access to the school’s excellent facilities and resources.

Our Aims

At Little Learners Nursery Group, we are dedicated to providing nurturing, positive experiences that help children grow and develop to their full potential. We achieve this by ensuring that every child:

  • Enjoys a caring, secure, and stimulating environment

  • Develops strong relationships with the people around them

  • Learns through interaction and discovery

  • Is listened to and receives individual attention

  • Is treated with equality and respect

We take great pride in the quality of care we provide. We understand that early experiences lay the foundations for a child’s self-esteem, social skills, motivation, and future academic success.

Our Provision

We cater for children aged 9 months to 4 years:

  • Bunnies (babies): A comforting, ‘home from home’ environment with gentle activities tailored for our youngest learners.

  • Tigers (toddlers): A wide range of structured activities designed to support growth, development, and curiosity.

  • Pandas (pre-school): Activities focused on building early learning skills and academic confidence, preparing children for a smooth transition to school.

Our Team

Our nursery team is made up of experienced and qualified staff, including teachers, EYFS practitioners, and trainees. Every member of our team is committed to guiding children through the wonders of learning with care, patience, and enthusiasm. Staff participate in ongoing training to continually enhance their skills and maintain detailed development records for every child, which are available for parents to review and discuss at any time.

Our Nursery Rooms

Each of our nursery rooms is generously sized, carefully planned, and well-resourced to create inspiring learning environments. All rooms have access to outdoor play areas, giving children regular opportunities for outdoor learning across the curriculum.

Parental Involvement

We believe in a strong partnership with parents. Each child’s needs are discussed before admission and regularly throughout their time with us. Parents are encouraged to talk to their child’s key worker about daily experiences, and individual development records are always available for review.

In our baby and toddler rooms, communication books are sent home to share key information. The Famly app is also used to record children’s eating, sleeping, and toileting habits. Our policies, including Complaints, Child Protection and Safeguarding, and Parents as Partners, are available in print in the nursery foyer.

Parents receive regular newsletters and updates on our noticeboard, and we hold parents’ evenings for each room to discuss children’s development. We also host Wine and Cheese evenings and a Parent Forum to encourage community and engagement.

Book a Visit

We welcome parents and children to visit our nursery. Please email our nursery manager at littlelearnersstmargarets@llng.co.uk to book a tour.

We are also accepting applications from expectant parents.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

At Little Learners Nursery Group, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the best possible start in life and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional government funding available to eligible children to help close gaps in learning and development and improve outcomes for disadvantaged children.

We use EYPP funding thoughtfully and strategically to enhance children’s learning experiences, wellbeing, and overall development. Funding may be used to support:

  • Targeted interventions to develop communication, language and literacy skills.
  • Additional resources and learning materials to support children’s interests and individual needs.
  • Enhanced opportunities for outdoor learning and enrichment experiences.
  • Staff training and professional development to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Support for children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Individualised learning opportunities to help children achieve their developmental milestones.

We carefully monitor the progress of children receiving EYPP funding and regularly evaluate the impact of the support provided. This enables us to ensure that funding is used effectively and that children make good progress across all areas of learning.

We work closely with parents and carers to identify eligible children and to ensure that support is tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs.

If you would like more information about Early Years Pupil Premium or believe your child may be eligible, please speak to a member of our management team who will be happy to assist you.

At Little Learners Nursery Group, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are dedicated to providing an inclusive, nurturing and stimulating environment where all children can succeed.
